Discover the difference between reptiles and amphibians and what makes these animals so special at your local library! Debunk myths and learn more about the natural world with interactive activities.

This Science Surprises session is 45-minute long and perfect for elementary-aged learners. These sessions do not require pre-registration but do have limited capacity.

Make a Thermometer

Do you like reptiles and amphibians? Ever wonder why turtles or alligators like to lay around in the sun? We’ll be learning how these cold-blooded animals regulate their temperatures by making our own thermometers!

We begin each session with an interactive demonstration of a scientific concept, followed by hands-on activities that can be taken home.

This program is supported by the Children’s Trust of Alachua County.
